I have to admit that I like it too. You really can't "overuse" an image like this -- the reason everyone makes a sci fi gunship like this is because it makes sense, from a tactical point of view and from a technological point of view as well.
Very, Very nice. Should you ever decide to covert these to scale miniatures (through Shapeways for example) sign me up for a dozen.
"Overused" would not be the word I‘d use here, it‘s more like "tried and tested". After all, why try something new when the old designs work so well? Especially when they are executed as well as you did it here
yeah, but if you're going for the whole "is it going to fly?" argument on a piece of wonderful art, remember that the TSR2, Eurofighter typhoon, and the harrier (especially the harrier as they are dead weight) all have wings that are pretty much useless and the aircraft relies on huge amounts of thrust.
i like it a lot. including the fact that instead of just having landing struts it has wheels. i Feel it can take off on a short runway it if wants to. i know that sounds silly, but it is kind of unique in scifi Vtols
I Love it. You can see where you pulled some of the references, but it still flows quite well as a whole. As for not being the most original design...From an onlooker's standpoint, seeing something like this come cruising up is bound to give someone nightmares. Functional, with a rather menacing aesthetic.
